Inclusive Leadership in Governance: Presentations Now Available

New this week on the PHESC website: slides and scripts for two short presentations on inclusive leadership in governance. These presentations from the Alliance for Healthier Communities are designed to be used with groups, including Boards of Health. There is also an extensive resource package (posted separately).

You can find these presentations and the resource package listed under Training Opportunities in the Inclusive and Effective Governance and Leadership section on PHESC.ca's Effective Public Health Practice page.

Ramadan Mubarak

Ramadan Mubarak! PHESC wishes all our Muslim partners and readers a productive fast.

For non-Muslims, here are a few things to keep in mind:

NCCMT Repository Resource: The role of stories in communicating prevention messages to policy makers

This 2010 paper in the National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools' repository outlines a way for public health practitioners to communicate effectively with those who may not be as familiar with scientific research and evidence.

Cet article (2010) décrit comment les praticiens en santé publique peuvent communiquer efficacement avec ceux et celles qui ne connaissent peut-être pas aussi bien la recherche scientifique et les données probantes. (Résumé en français. Article disponible en anglais.)

MOHLTC Relationships with Indigenous Communities guideline (lignes directrices concernant les relations avec les communautés autochtones) now available in French

Cherchez-vous les lignes directrices concernant les relations avec les communautés autochtones? Grâce au Ministère des affaires francophones, elles sont encore disponibles en français (PDF).

Looking for the French version of the Relationships with Indigenous Communities guideline? It's now available again (PDF), thanks to the Ministry of Francophone Affairs. The English version is still available as well (PDF), of course.
